Florida is known for its temperate, warm climate, which lends itself to nearly year-round motorcycle riding. Young Man Killed in Gainesville Motorcycle Accident
A few weeks ago, one man was killed and several others were hospitalized after an accident involving a motorcycle and another vehicle. According to a local news report, the collision occurred in Gainesville in the early evening hours. Evidently, a motorist was attempting to make a left turn into an apartment complex in front of an approaching motorcycle.
The 18-year-old motorist misjudged the amount of time she had to complete the turn, and she collided with the motorcycle, throwing the rider off the bike and onto the pavement. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital, where he died a short time later due to the injuries he sustained in the crash. Two others who were in the car at the time of the accident were also transported to the hospital and are expected to make a full recovery.
Police have begun a full investigation into the fatal motorcycle accident but do not believe that it will be complete for several months. There was no indication that speed, drugs, or alcohol were involved.
