Woman Arrested After Striking Taxi Driver in Miami Beach
Earlier this month in Miami Beach, one man was hospitalized after he was struck by a passing motorist as he was getting out of his car. According to one local news report covering the accident, the collision occurred at around 5:30 in the morning on Collins Avenue, near 38th Street.
Evidently, the grey SUV that the woman was driving flipped onto its side after the initial collision. As police and emergency crews turned the vehicle upright, they noticed that partially full bottles of alcohol had fallen from the vehicle. Police also noticed the driver’s eyes were blood-shot, her speech slurred, and her reactions slow. They administered a series of field-sobriety tests, which she failed, and then arrested the woman on charges of Driving Under the Influence.
