Attorney Angel I. Rivera Joins Cecere Santana, PA

Angel I. Rivera has joined Cecere Santana, PA as an associate attorney. Mr. Rivera will be working with the legal team handling Property Litigation claims. As part of this team, he will be responsible for helping clients whose homes or businesses have been damaged by hurricanes, storms, fires, water damages or other types of property claims.

Mr. Rivera joins Cecere Santana after a successful career handling property claims. Previously, Mr. Rivera represented insurance companies in cases related to property insurance claims, which gives him a unique perspective when representing our clients. He knows first-hand how insurance companies operate and the best way to help our clients receive the right compensation for their property loss.

A graduate from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Colley Law School, Mr. Rivera is fluent in Spanish. He is also a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications.

Cecere Santana, PA Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary!

This summer, Cecere Santana, PA celebrates 10 years since partners Michael Cecere and Erick Santana decided to join forces and open Cecere Santana, PA. Attorneys Cecere and Santana met in the early 90s when they were both insurance adjusters for State Farm Insurance Company. Their paths crossed again in 1996 when they attended Shepard Broad College of Law at Nova Southeastern University. After graduating and practicing law for several years, the attorneys decided to combine their years of experience in personal injury and property claims and in 2008 they opened their first office in Sunrise.

At the time, the firm consisted of two attorneys and three case managers. Since then, Cecere Santana has moved to a larger office in Plantation and the team has grown to four attorneys and more than 10 paralegals, case managers and support staff, with the sole purpose of offering our clients the best legal representation and the best customer service in the industry. In the last 10 years, Cecere Santana has helped thousands of clients hurt in automobile accidents, slip and falls, negligent security and all types of personal injury cases. We have also collected millions of dollars for home and business owners who have suffered losses to their properties due to hurricanes, storms, fires, water damages or other types of property claims.

At Cecere Santana, our priority is to offer our customers not only sound legal advice, but also excellent customer service. Our attorneys make a point of speaking directly to our clients when they sign with our firm, but also throughout their case. Our staff is trained to assist our clients throughout the legal process, guiding them every step of the way. As a result, our clients are our best referral source. Attorney Anika Milian Named to the Florida Bar Editorial Board

Attorney Anika Milian was selected to be part of the Florida Bar Journal/News Editorial Board standing committee of the Florida Bar. She will serve a term of three years beginning on July 1, 2017 and ending on June 30, 2020.

Members of this committee advise and assist the editorial staff to develop current articles of interest and concern to the legal profession, and then select for publication only the most worthy and notable manuscripts.

Attorney Anika Guevara joins Cecere Santana

Anika Guevara has joined Cecere Santana, PA as an associate attorney. Ms. Guevara joins the legal team handling cases relating to personal injury, automobile accidents, Workers’ Compensation and PIP.

A graduate of St. Thomas University School of Law, she was senior articles editor of the St. Thomas Law Review. Most recently, she was recognized with the Exemplary Law Review Editor Award.

A South Florida native, Ms. Guevara is also a graduate of Florida International University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

Attorney Laura Callava joins Cecere Santana

Laura Callava, a graduate from the University of Miami School of Law, has joined Cecere Santana as an associate attorney. Ms. Callava joins the legal team handling cases relating to personal injury, automobile accidents, Workers’ Compensation and PIP.

Throughout her time at the University of Miami, Ms. Callava was an active member of Miami Law Women, the Hispanic Law Student Association, and Miami Law Ambassadors. She also helped organize and participate in Miami Law’s Dean’s Cup competition. In her third year of law school she was selected to participate in the international Law Without Walls program and since graduation has continued to be involved in the program as a mentor.

Prior to law school, Ms. Callava earned her undergraduate degree in International Studies from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. At Emory, she was a student-athlete as a member of the tennis team and was a representative in the NCAA’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. During her final season, she was named to the All-Academic Team by the University Athletic Association and was recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as a Scholar Athlete.

Attorney Erick Santana Named to Board of Directors of the Broward County Hispanic Bar Association

Under this new role, Mr. Santana will work with the rest of the board and the Association’s leadership to expand diversity in the legal profession and to provide financial assistance to deserving Hispanic law students.

The Broward County Hispanic Bar Association is an organization made up of lawyers, law students, business leaders and educators residing and/or working in Broward County. It was founded in 1989 as a forum for Hispanic lawyers to address issues of importance in the community.
